How are you people going any faster than 10mph on any NY highway with all the traffic to notice any potholes?

Congrats on the ride! I'm sure the exhaust sounds great, maybe ringtone material. BTW, I thought NJ was the speed trap capital?

My take after 1000 miles

What can I say. I love this vehicle.

Likes:

The power is insane, more power than I'll ever need. It feels as if my foot never presses the accelerator more than a fraction of an inch, like I'm coasting but I'm doing 80. Shifts are smooth and no more lag off the line. She just rockets.

The exhaust note

The new idrive is much faster than the old one and easier to navigate. The rear view camera with top view is pretty cool. It's much clearer than the old camera was. Big improvement.

I love that I can save my music on the hard drive. Who needs the 6 CD changer?

Handling is awesome. I do feel a difference between the 20s that were on the X6 I drove at the PCD and the 19s I have. I don't feel as glued to the roadway going around my morning ramp to the bridge as I did tearing up the slalom. I'm not sure if it's because of the all seasons vs the performance tires or possibly that I hit the bridge within 5 minutes of leaving my house so the tires aren't warmed up. Obviously the width of the staggered set up plays into it. I'm considering summer wheels...

The exhaust note

Nappa leather seats and dash. Love it. The seats are like butter.

Aluminum trim looks great.

Have I mentioned the exhaust note?

Dislikes:

No rear wiper. It would probably be an eyesore but I'm so used to it, I hate when my view is impaired, especially having the smaller rear window.

My sideview mirrors. I feel as if the placement is different from the E70. I can't put my finger on it but the view seems off. I also find them very dark at night. I guess I'll get used to them.

The C pillar ( is that what you call it?) Although there is a small vent window, that damn pillar is in my view when I look over my right shoulder to change lanes. Yes, I always look over my shoulder when changing lanes. Again, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

That little gray flap on the lower rear. It really should be black.

All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase, except my jaw hurts from grinning.

I still think BMW can do better with the fitment of the dead pedal...

But what's up with the 1930-ish Ford pickup??? It looks to be in great shape!

The pedals are from Bimmian. BMW pedals don't do it for me.

Thanks Weas. It's a 1936 V8. It's the actual truck my dad learned to drive on. He bought it and had it restored.

Ahh, the flathead V8... It must have been a fun project! Even edelbrock makes cylinder heads for the flathead now!
