Burger Juice Box 3 in X6 3.5
Since 93 Octane fuel is easily obtained in my region I went with the stage 5. Mr. Burger recommended same because of the octane. A side note, the tech said BMW is claiming problems with the high pressure fuel pumps due to all the alcohol in the fuel. True? I dunno! First of all, I like it. Response is up and what limited turbo lag I had, very little and only occasionally, is gone. One of the first things I noticed was I can now drive the car in city traffic in “D” rather than sport. As we all know in “D” the car does not use first gear. It does, however, seem to allow the engine to spin up a little before going into 2nd gear. Obviously a fuel saving feature. I have no idea how much more HP is being created, I’d guess 30-40 (?), but now, especially in sport mode, the car seems almost a perfect blend of power and economy. Mileage has dropped perhaps ½ a mile per gallon in city driving. I’ve only driven the car about 75 miles and whether or not the “adaptation” by the box to the car is complete I wouldn’t know. The 3.5 X6 is advertised at 5200 lbs. The juice box gives it the kick it needs to get it going that first 200 ft. I’d love to do more to the engine but I’m told that there are no down pipes or intakes yet available nor can I find any on the web. Regardless, in sport mode and with the foot to the floor the tachometer certainly spins up in a hurry. |

So far so good except for one problem. Uncertain why this would happen on a road trip using different gas, Terry Burger said it should make no difference, but had two occasions when I got the big engine light and car went into "limp"(?) mode. No problem solving it, just turned off car and restated it. Took the car to my BMW tech., he has all the test gear, and the problem appeared to be that the waste gate was staying closed too long causing an over boost situation. Did not write down the codes. Terry Burger said it may be due to a "lag fix" program induced by a heavier car. However, both incidents occurred under very low throttle angle. Regardless, I dropped the J.B. stage down from 5 to 4 and the problem has not reoccurred. However, I've not been on a road trip or put strange gas in it either. I do remain happy with the product.

What about dyno test? The most interesting is 0-60mph timing. Could you please measure?

I am wondering why the JB is so popular with X6 owners. I am stepping "up" from a 335i and can't imagine going with something like the JB3 for such an expensive car. I can understand for a base 135i or something, but a couple hundred dollars v. a Procede at this price range seems strange to me.

Perhaps because Vishnu isn't listing a Procede version available for the X6. It may work in the X6, I don't know, but the application isn't supported according to their website.
I was going to go with the Dinan upgrade for the 535, as I didn't want ultimate hp gain but rather no hassles from my dealer. I have had one HP fuel pump under warranty. I decided to wait and see what the BMW performance upgrades would look like, but haven't pursued it.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that. Funny since they did the first x6 tune here in the us. I emailed them for confirmation and they replied that the Procede may be used for any application of the twin turbo 6 and they have a number x6 35s using the tune. Sounds like a website update is in order.
