getting the X6!!

till recently I was looking at getting another X5 but the more I study the X6 the more I like... I'm actually starting to love this vehicle.

alpine white w/black nevada and aluminum trim & 214s looks hot!!

I'm getting ready to negotiate my purchase which i plan on doing in mid Dec...

so far with all the options i want...(X6 35i w/tech, premium, rear climate, prem sound, heated seats, running boards, sport activity w/214s) I'm looking at about $860 over invoice when I add it all up...

obviously this does not include the $2500 holiday credit...

is this a good deal? am I about to get tossed out of the dealership or do you think I can truly get more aggressive in pricing especially here in NY?

also, I did not opt for the adaptive drive option...or sport option which includes it...

should I be concerned? Do I really need these options? will it feel unstable on highway speeds even though it has dynamic stability control and dynamic performance control as standard features?

i also plan on lowering it with H&R springs.. (if that makes any difference)

I'm trying to keep the price somewhere reasonable and the more I add the closer I get to a 50i... (which is nice but i'm not too crazy about the gas mileage)

thoughts??

I can't imagine you will ever use the word unstable to describe the X6. It's more agile than the E70. The DPC is amazing. It defies physics. I really wish I had a video of the X6 doing the slalom. I was amazed at how it weaved through those cones.

I use the adaptive drive often. I'll try and remember not to on a few ramps and report back. Good luck.

Are you buying or leasing? I would get a X6 50i with perf package and not worry about prem sound etc. or rear climate. You can tint your windows for cheaper.
If you are buying than you will take a hit with more options on 35i at resale time. At resale base price counts more than base+options price.
There is only $3650 difference in MSRP below. The dealer has just a little more room on 50i for disc.

I really like the X6 too. It took me a while but whenever I see one on the road the just look amazing. Personally I would go with the 50i. But right now I am trying to make up my mind whether I keep my X5 and buy a used 06-07 M5 or just dump the X and get a X6.

Here is a decent idea of the stability of the X6 from Australia.

nice video...

i'd like to know if not having the adaptive drive, or sport option will make a huge difference in handling...

does anyone have an X6 without it??

I tried the non adaptive drive on a demo and didn't notice any roll, even gave it a few crazy maneuvers with little or no roll, had the dynamic package but I don't think that is much difference to handling.
I had a similar set up with my old Porsche, it made some difference but not a great deal, much less weight to control on that though.

i have another dumb question..

looking through the many pics from all the happy customers I noticed many have some sort of suede and leather combo seat..(although they are same color)

are these the standard sport seats offered by BMW?

when configuring the X6 you only get the standard sport seats or the multi-contour seat as an option..

i'm actually not too crazy about this combo and prefer to have a full leather black nevada..

do i need to get the mult-contour to get this setup?

I got the contour seats and they are full leather (napa not nevada). The X6 they gave me at the PC had the suede/leather seats. I'm assuming they were sport seats, they had the thicker side bolsters. They were comfortable and looked pretty nice but the feel was weird. You can't slide in and out of them, the suede causes friction on your clothes. Not sure if they are the standard sport seats, sorry.
