wind noise from sunroof

need some help folks.. can it really be true that its normal when the sunroof is close, that i can hear wind noise. i have been at the bmw dealer now 3 time because of the noise from the sunroof and rear windows. but the dealers said that there are nothing to do and that they have received several complaints regarding the issue.. do any of your cars have the wind noise problem from the sunroof or rear winodws..?

If this is at higher speeds, may be the windscreen seal loosening, happened on one of our earlier X5s a few years ago. Could hear a noise from speeds >100km/h. Now if this happens when the roof is open, there is a bulletin out on the wind deflector springs which need to be replaced with stronger ones.

Cheers,

hey The Big.. thanks for replying, here is how i experience the problem. the wind noise is already when driving at 50km/h, and the noise is so loud that its like the sunroof is open.
and the problem that i have is when the sunroof is closed and the cover is pulled back. but there aint any noise when the cover is pulled covering the sunroof.. the car is from 09. the car was at the workshop a whole week because of this problem.

You are going to have to try another stealership that can more accurately look at the sunroof - sounds like its not sealing properly.

Cheers,

Here is my zero $ / 2 min fix: Sunroof has a a calibrate function.
Push the roof button up (as if you want to open vent) and hold it. After a few seconds, the roof will start a full cycle opening and closing roof and blind.
Keep holding the button until the cycle is over and here you go. Sunroof memorized fully opened and closed positions as new calibration.
This BTW fixed the rattling noise I had !!!
