Lightbulb X6 2009 35i white smoke and water from left exhaust tip??

Hey guys

New member here. After owning an E53 for last 2 years I went and bought a 2009 X6 35i TwinTurbo. Very happy with it, however I've been noticing that the left hand side (passenger side in Australia - right hand drive) exhaust tip blows a bit of white smoke when initially starting it up for the first few minutes. Then after a while, the smoke is gone but there is still water in the tip and there is a lot of heat coming out. The driver side exhaust tip however does not have any smoke, no water and no heat coming out (only little bit of warm heat)!

Is this something I should be concerned about? I have 3 months statuary dealer warranty where they have to fix anything that could be wrong. Should I take it back to them or is it just condensation/combustion by-product that I've been gathering from forums online...

Also, I'm planning on installing a JB4 Stage 3 tune... is this a good idea? Is it safe?

Thanks guys

The exhaust system in the 3.5 (not sure if its the same for the 5.0?) only runs BOTH sides above 2500rpm I believe - otherwise its just the left hand side that works.

Sounds reasonable to me, you should be OK

Just read this and thanks Chris F. for the exhaust info. I don't have smoke, but do notice steam coming out of the driver side tip only. Wasn't sure if it was an issue, but based on your info, it makes complete sense. Thanks again.

Look for the symptoms in the user manual of your vehicle. I’m sure you will get to know about what went wrong and the probable reasons of emergence of smoke and water etc. But if you do not possess the user manual, you can get a copy of it online from manuals.co. This is the online website that offers all kinds of user manuals and that too absolutely free of costs.
