I dont understand, why would they go through all that trouble of adding a 3rd row on the x5 then only to make a X7 years later thats only meant to compete with GL/GLS when the GL/GLS has been out since the late 2000s? personally a little behind if you ask me

Test drove the 30d UK version last month for a couple of hours when my X5 was in for service. Dealer had in in as demo with all options.
Its a big car for UK roads but will sit nicely in US market. Personally its better in the flesh than in pics, ride was good and responsive enough for a 3 ltr oil burner. 7 seater with electric access to rear seats which are still for kids or fairly agile adults. Would I have one, prob not, I'd stick with X5 and add 3rd row for that very occasional use when carrying one of the kids friends etc.

I would say this CGI by L'Automobile from 2014 was not a bad guess after all... I think their rendition of the headlights and the large grill is close enough!
