Anyone looking for a "Lobster Tray"

Not my auction, but seller looks reputable (100% positive feedback with 1000 transactions). You don't see these every day

What, exactly, does this lobster tray do? It doesnt seem to be a very convenient shape to fit things in.

It's a place to put your lobster as you’re asking for some Grey Poupon.

I see no useful functionality for it.

It's a rubber tray that fits over the cup holder. Why it's got that unique shape, I'll never know. However, as Juan stated above, BMW stopped putting them in the vehicle after 2003 and if you are considering using that area to store an iPod or similar device then it's nice to have.

I could be wrong, but I think it was originally to store pens. The larger part of the pen with the handle goes in the top where it bulges, and the thinner part is in the smaller part of the tray.
