This vehicle has been meticulously maintained from scheduled maintanance to warming the engine up correctly. Completely dealer maintained. Oil + Filter changed every 7,500 miles. I hear ya on the E70 - I'm really bummed about that because I really like them, but even the X5 I have now is out of my price range.
 Have you driven a 4.4? Obviously that would be my recommendation... GL!!!
