I don't have projectors at all, so is this a way to upgrade my headlights, or am I better off buying one of those aftermarket sets from ebay?

Sorry if i'm confused, but I need some clarification of halogen vs xenon vs bi-xenon.

The white X5 below is not my car, i'm using it for illustration. The lowbeam has a little glass ball inside of it, does that make them xenon/bi-xenon? All 4 of the headlights on my X look just like the hibeam in the pic below...no little glass projector ball, just ugly little wafers.

I have also attached pics of my 7 w/ those ugly wafers removed....no negative affect on the lighting patterns of the lowbeam (probably because it's a projector) and the highbeam is WAY brighter, spreading more light. I'm considering removng the wafers in my X when I install the angel eyes for Sobi and myself.

Cirle in a low-beam headlights, means it has Xenon for lowbeams in E53 untill 2003. From 2004 and up you have to actually look at projector,as it might not be HID but normal projector HALO. If you don't have cicrle like i do it means you X5 00-03 came with no factory HID and if remove waffles it will be not so good light, according to other posts here. But you can install projector if you decided or the good thing is if you don't have factory HID you can basically install any ebay HID headlights without cutting any wires.
