FS: X3 navigation dashboard bin, Garmin Nuvi 765T

Hi all,

I recently sold my 2004 BMW X3, in which I had retrofitted the X3 navigation dashboard bin that holds a Garmin Nuvi. BMW and Garmin collaborated to create this.

More details can be found in this thread:

OEM Navigation Portable Plus / Pro - Anyone seen it? - bimmerfest - BMW Forums

My setup is unique. I bought the entire setup, which Tischer BMW sells for $63.20 for the bin (PN 65900445996) and a whopping $456 for the navigation system (PN 65902149498).

The reason to do this is because the cradle is stupidly included with the navigation system rather than the bin. To get the pieces to allow the use of any Garmin 7xx series navigation unit, you have to sadly buy both. They don't sell the cradle separately -- you can see that it's not even shown on RealOEM: RealOEM.com BMW E83N X3 3.0sd Navigation Portable Plus / Pro

Others have hacked in a cradle using some handiwork -- this is the factory cradle and bin as Garmin and BMW had intended.

I proceeded to sell the included navigation system and bought a Garmin 765T, because it's updated, includes more features and is just better overall. The 765T currently goes for around $200 on various retailer sites.

I'm selling what BMW should be selling -- the latest Garmin 7 series navigation unit along with the bin (that they engineered).

Mint condition, except for one small nick in the front of the bin -- shown in detail in pic.

Here's a brief rundown of what you'll get:
  • BMW OEM navigation bin with factory cradle, plug and play functionality that charges the unit and seamlessly connects into included BMW OEM traffic/GPS antenna.
  • BMW OEM harness to plug into the stock radio
  • BMW OEM traffic/GPS antenna for this purpose, plug and play into harness
  • Dealer instructions to cover retrofit

$165 shipped.

If you want a completely plug and play solution, I can include my Garmin 765T. It's in great condition and the screen has been covered since Day 1 with an Zagg Invisibleshield which comes with a lifetime warranty. One minor nick in the corner (picture shown).

The benefit of this unit is that it comes with lifetime traffic WITHOUT ADS. The version that Garmin sells off the shelf is ad supported, which I find annoying. This doesn't have ads -- an upcharge.

It also still has one free map update included (from Garmin) -- that hasn't been redeemed by me yet.

Will include everything new in retail box, so you'll have the ability to use this in another car as well!

$125 shipped.

Hello. Really interested in the bin and connection to radio. Couple questions though. With the radio connection, that allows the garmin to come through the radio speakers? Does that provide the power for the Garmin?

PM sent.

The harness has wires for audio out and mute, but I didn't bother to use them when I used this unit. Should be possible, but I can't confirm now that the X3 is sold... Was perfectly happy with independent audio from the stereo and my nav unit.
