The sub is still available. The sub is plug and play but you need the right wiring harness coming out of the car. If you look at the picture you will see where it plugs into the car. That's the only connection coming from the sub.

Plug-n-Play if your E53 (2000-2006 model year) came with DSP, which was an upgrade to the stock radio system.

So if I am going to retrofit a nav an bt to my 06 X5... I would need a DSP? So when I do this it would be possible?

And any of these options can be retrofitted (although not cheap to do so). Here was a post on the DSP retrofit - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...em-dsp-x5.html There are many other posts here on the site for Nav and BT retrofits.

Ask Martin at Bimmernav.com. He installed an OEM Nav from scratch in my 540 and it worked great

Getting it done next week. Sorry about the subwoofer I was looking forward to having this in but looks like it may be more involved than just connecting and installing. Thanks again for you help.
