WTB: OEM Hitch & Wiring Harness for '05 X5
I'm looking for an OEM hitch and wiring harness for my '05 X5 4.4i. As I'm sure some of you know, BMW doesn't make these parts anymore, and therefore no dealerships in the country carry them. When my husband and I bought our X5, one of the primary reasons we did so was to have the capability to tow our Harley. Well....that's difficult to do with no hitch! Please let me know if anyone has one for sale, knows of anyone selling one, or knows how I can get one. We live in Kentucky. Thank you!

There is a long DIY thread here discussing the lack of availability of OEM hitches [and installing them when they could still be found, ending early last year from the dealers]. Given that lots of folks look for hitches here, you are probably best off looking on Craigslist, ebay, and from junkyard sites to find one. Good luck. Also, read the DIY thread about 'aftermarket' hitches - Given how the OEM hitches attach to our vehicles' unibodies, I would be reluctant to tow anything as heavy as a Harley [or 2] on a trailer with anything other than an OEM hitch. Good luck! [BTW, my folks and sister are all EKU grads]
