its a little on the high side but i have seen them go for more. i guess he is factoring in the fact that he is giving you the latest 3d software.
here is another ones to consider in case you feel the first one is too much..
good luck

I see,
so if i buy another MK4 dvd Nav Computer, would it be hard for me to install the software?Or would it be hard getting it?I don't think it really matters if the unit is manufacture in 2003,-04 , or -05.No unit differences right?

THanks

mkiv

doesn't really matter about the hardware its more on the software..
as long as its a mkiv you are set.
BMW usually changes the the software every year or so.. the new V27 is coming out real soon so it should not be not be a big deal when the production date is on the mkiv that you get, but the 2 links that i sent you look to be pretty new..

Not for 2003 X5

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

The link showed a DVD nav Unit which i believe does not work on the X5.
The question is how easy is it to find V.27 if i buy an MK4 Nav.

mkiv

thats the beauty of x5 world because you can get the v27on this forum..you just have to burn it and isntall it on your nav drive..
First just get the MKiv ..everything is a piece of cake..there are plenty of people who can help walk you throuh the steps on how to burn the software download ..but you have to get the nav drive first.. you have a couple of options for the mkiv so decide on one of them and then worry about the v27 later..

I don't believe this is true at all. For a Mk iv unit for the X5, look for the DVD logo AND the eject button should be on the left-hand side (looking from front). Mk iv's with the eject button on the right will not work on the X5, from the forum posts I've seen. Thanks Dimit3 for catching that too. That boxier right-eject model is for the recent 7-series (which also has a different display) and won't work for e53's. The first link in this thread will work.
Good luck all.
