There are several salvage places around the country, I am sure you can find one. or make it a project car (if you have money) and get engine from another BMW.

Here are some salvage parts stores....Google search below for more. If you want to seriously make it into project car and try to fit some more powerful engine or a ESS or Gpower unit...then you need to work with the tuners. Try Nate @ Ind-dist. They can hook you up with right people.

this is 4.8is engine --> N62B48
The N62B48 comes in two versions, both displacing 4.8 L (4799 cc/292 in³). The first is a 265 kW (360 hp)/500 N·m (369 ft·lbf) used in the BMW X5 4.8iSA, while a different tune is used for the 270 kW (367 hp)/490 N·m (361 ft·lbf) version. Bore is 93 mm and stroke is 88.3 mm.
