Getbmwparts.com had the hitch kit & after canceling my order I ordered the electrical kit which ended the same way.

My point being they can't know when B/O parts will become available.

Good luck finding a hitch, either used or in a junkyard. You might try the big west coast bmw use parts dealer, I thinks its bmrparts dot com? I think I bought an E36 smog pump [Secondary Air Pump] from them maybe 5? yrs ago, they seemed to have a big inventory of bimmer stuff. As E30cabrio knows first hand, hard to assemble one ... As for the 'back order,' expect a long wait, if the current dealers' stock id'd in my early December email, is every replenished from the OEM supplier.

I contacted them first, not only did they not have it, they insisted my request for the hitch only bumper support was euro only & unnecessary. Trust me you need to correct bumper support.

I'm willing to sell mine, but it would have to be a meet up as parts would have to be exchanged, like the bumper support and stuff.

I figure what's the sense in having a hitch if I never plan to tow anything.
