I need the passenger mirror that's heated and autodimming, but these people on eBay act like they're selling gold and are asking upwards of $100 for a USED mirror. As for the motor itself that you need, I'm sure they're universal regardless of the mirror type and they're all over eBay.

Yes, the X5 mirrors (glass and assemblies) are priced like the unicorn juice we put in our xdrive boxes.

I've asked if anyone has any experience with the ebay motors/gears in the main E53 page mirror thread up on page one. No resposes, though it's only been there for a day.

As for your mirror glass, I finally gave up on the factory glass and instead bought some heated, aspherical aftermarket mirrors. The 'blue' tint isn't noticable during the day but by some magic, it dims lights at night pretty well. Got the pair for something like $50? It's been a while though. Really, the auto dimming is nice, but not that nice in comparison to the benefits of the aspherical lenses.

To be honest, I have Drivers and Passenger stock heated, auto dimming mirrors on my garage and I could be persuaded to discuss their departure if you email me at the address above...

Of the mirrors I found on eBay, they're all from Europe and have this vertical line, which in guessing is the aspherical mirror. I've never used them personally, I've just always done like 2" stick-on convex mirrors. Email sent because my passenger side mirror is useless since it's burned itself into a golden brown and has caused the reflection to double as well.
