Don't need mufflers, but was wondering what you replaced them with, Chris.

...An absolutley pointless upgrade to 4.8is mufflers. I say pointless because other than appearance, there is definitely no improvement in sound or performance. To that end, I have a beautiful (in appearance at least) stainless steel x-pipe on the way. Hopefully the moola I spent on the mufflers won't have been in vain after the x-pipe install. Then again, I can't expect much improvement in the sound department from the 3.0 engine.

You'll get a little more sound out of your x-pipes, it won't be a lot of sound like a rip snorting V8, but it will be an improvement. You're right, the 3.0L engine doesn't push enough volume through the exhaust to create a lot of sound. But the good news is that somebody will buy your 4.8is pipes.

GregwX5 posted some sound clips of his AFE CAI and SuperSprint exhaust mounted on his 3.0. It's a pretty nice sounding system.

I installed the xpipe on my 3.0 and it sounds great. If you do a search i you should be able to find a couple of video clips i made.
Also i coulndt pay to have somebody take my old 3.0 mufflers and ended up throwing them in the garbage... good luck with the sale though.
