Bird crap stain!
I always heard that bird poop will stain your paint's finish, but never saw it first hand...until this past weekend. I don't know if these birds where having a contest or what, but in the 20 minutes it was parked, I had FOUR huge piles on my car (two on the windshield, two on the hood). Holy cow did it wreak havoc on my finish. It took a good 20 minutes of rubbing with Mequire's fine scratch remover (per dropping) to get the "etching" out of the finish.
So the next time this happens to you, don't let it sit (like I did). Remove it ASAP or you'll be rubbing and swearing for a long time to get the stain out! |
Thanks for the tip unfortunately it seems to be too late for me!!! I have like 3 stains which I didn't notice until after I Zainoed the car a few weeks ago, I then decided to do the whole process again this weekend and after 2 days of trying no luck I have Zaino shine with 3 spots on paint (hood). I wonder if anyone or anything will ever get it off!!!!

Honestly, I have no idea if it would be a viable solution. |

Clay it. I had the same acid filled piles of crap on my hood last month. Got clay from Wayne's Towels (.com)......lubricate the stain and clay away....worked beautifully......ummmm...garters.....;).....see post, 'bone head question--clay...'...lubrication....garters......good combo.....

The light scratches are there as a result of rubbing the bird crap off, not caused by the crap itself - sorry to be so blunt.
To get bird poop off your car - put hot (very hot!) water over the area and leave for 20 minutes, then put a mild soap solution over it and leave it for a few minutes. Then jet wash it or hose it off. DO NOT RUB OVER THE AFFECTED AREA - YOU WILL SCRATCH YOUR PAINT UP!! |
