Bird crap stain!

I always heard that bird poop will stain your paint's finish, but never saw it first hand...until this past weekend. I don't know if these birds where having a contest or what, but in the 20 minutes it was parked, I had FOUR huge piles on my car (two on the windshield, two on the hood). Holy cow did it wreak havoc on my finish. It took a good 20 minutes of rubbing with Mequire's fine scratch remover (per dropping) to get the "etching" out of the finish.

So the next time this happens to you, don't let it sit (like I did). Remove it ASAP or you'll be rubbing and swearing for a long time to get the stain out!

Unhappy

Thanks for the tip unfortunately it seems to be too late for me!!! I have like 3 stains which I didn't notice until after I Zainoed the car a few weeks ago, I then decided to do the whole process again this weekend and after 2 days of trying no luck I have Zaino shine with 3 spots on paint (hood). I wonder if anyone or anything will ever get it off!!!!

This is just a hunch, but has anyone tried something with an enzyme in it? A pet stain/odor remover? I've always had good results with Mother's Cleaner Carnuba Wax. I just let it dry for 10 mins and the poop is gone. Who knows, maybe the birds have a low-acid diet around here?

Hmm!!! I have enzyme cleaners here, since I use them for my carpet cleaning business, I'm just afraid I may ruin the paint!!!!

I was thinking that if they're safe for carpets...

Honestly, I have no idea if it would be a viable solution.

You would think so right? Then again I use something that's very close to thinner too and that's Safe on carpets but would never dare try it on a car's paint!!!!

having a fresh coat of wax/topper on it will prevent most of the etching also.. that is, if the top coat is still slick to the touch, the acid in the poop will be etching the wax and not the clear coat...

thats why some folks like to detail regularly (wax once a month).. keeps the the paint slick to the touch always...
