What do I do?

I got my car detailed by a detailer that my dealer recommended.

Needless to say, that's not happening again anytime soon. How do I fix this?

I'd bring it right back and make them fix it, and it they can't have them agree to cover the bill to have it fixed. That is horrible work for a detail shop and looks like probably a new guy that didn't know better or care did the job...

I would also take it back and demand that their most experienced guy fixes this (unless he was the one who messed it up of course). I can't believe they even gave you the car like that in the first place. I would then call the dealer and tell them what happened at the place they recommended.

I called the guy (40 minutes away) and he was dismissive of it. He said if I brought it up he'd "see what he could do" but probably not much. I should have said something right away when I went to get it, but I was in a rush, the wax was fresh enough that I didn't notice and it was cloudy.

Damn detailer was smoking near my car too, stupid hick.

Reason why I detail myself. if he can't fix you will have to fix yourself or bring it to Phil.

I would too, if I had a garage, and the right stuff (I have a PC at home, but don't know the first thing about pads, good quality products, etc. I went through the detailing forum and don't even have the attention span to finish going through the laundry list of products used)

I don't know if I'll be in NJ again, I'll have to figure that out.

I'll take a picture, but there are "burn holes" on the black metal strip that has worn down to the metal that I think makes up the rain gutter. Is that from Acid Rain?

The burn might have come from the detailer using too much pressure on an aggressive pad going over the edge. He should've taped that area up before just to prevent that from happening.

Thanks.

I'm gonna try the owner tomorrow then see what I can do about finding someone to fix it.

Thats awful. Bring that back to the guy who did it and either have him fix it or get a refund.
