Dont Shoot!

Hiya!

Lots and lots of info in this forum! I have an '07 X5 4.8 with no ability to stream music via my Galaxy 7 (that I'm aware of)...through the sound system. I tried the AUX port with a BT device, but....yuck. I have my phone paired successfully with the BT for the phone, but no music.

What do I need to do to attain sonic Nirvana in this thing?

Suggestions??

Why not connect it to the Aux input and stream from the phone?
As far as I know BMW bluetooth doesn't stream audio for a 2007.
The Aux input doesn't require bluetooth. My 2005 doesn't.

A wired link from the headset jack on the galaxy to the aux connector in the console, pick aux as the sound source via entertainment selection and off you go, sound Nirvana.
No headset jack, change phones or get an aftermarket radio for your X

Via the AUX input: sound yes, Nirvana no. I have to jack the volume on the X's system to get any kind of volume. When I do? Lo-Fi prevails.

I don't know what's intended to be plugged into the AUX, but it sure aint a streaming music source!

I bought the appropriate retro fit telematics unit. Hopefully that will get me somewhere

I tried again, adjusting the volume on the Galaxy, etc. NADA. The concept of plugging the earphone out into the AUX in seems like a viable way to play music off of an outboard device through the sound system on the X, right?

RIGHT, Works like a charm on my 05 4.4. But there are additional volumn controls in the head unit that increase the output in 6 steps. Look and see if yours has the same option. Mine uses the 6 radio station buttons in Aux mode to increase the volumn.
