I can't be sure, but when I had the VR module installed in my '05 by the dealer, they claimed it was the same part number for all X5's, but that languages, etc. needed to be coded separately. I have no proof of this...but if you can ask them to give you the part# of the VR module currently in your X5 and part# of the one they think it needs...maybe you can call their bluff?
