2006 4.8 w/ nav
I plug my phone in and the signal doesn't get any better. If anything it's worse. From an earlier post I was told since my car is a 2006 w/ nav and bluetooth I didn't need the bumper antenna but I think I may??? How can I tell? |

If you look in the left rear electronics bay and you find a coaxial antenna connection that isn't connected to anything then it's a good bet you need one. Based on your description that your signal gets worse when you put the phone into the cradle is also a strong indication that you'll need to add an antenna.

I'm going to go check. What a bummer. You would think they would install this in a $73,000 car!

This happened to me when I had mine done as well. The dealer simply forgot to connect the antenna. I connected it and everthing was fine.

They forgot to connect the bumper mount antenna or your truck used the same connection as the assist module?
My dealer didn't install the bumper mount said I didn't need it....but it seems I do. |
