Eject Box for X5?

I'm not sure I want to screw around with the pins in the eject box ... given that the car has only been in my possession for 3 days, that is ...

I found some other posts in various forums which talk about the difference between eject boxes with a pairing button (for pre-2004) and without pairing buttons (post-2004). I wonder if that may be the problem I have ... apparently the eject box with the pairing button will not charge the phone, while the one with the pairing button will. That might also explain your recommendation to move pins ?

The part number referenced for a box without the pairing button is 84-21-6-933-415. I sent a note off to the dealer's service department (copying the salesman just to make sure he doesn't feel left out

) asking about it. Frankly, I'm not in the mood to drive 25 miles and hang around for a few hours just to be told that 1) the phone isn't charging (duh!) and 2) they have to order the other part.

If someone has the time to look at a working setup in a 2005/2006 and verify my suspicion, that would be great. Otherwise, I'll post results as I get them.
