Thinking about bluetooth
Could anyone tell me where and what to look for to see if my X5 is prewired or has the SA605 (or something like this) option (what connectors and where can I find them in the car?). It's a european model and I can buy a full BT kit for an E39. Will it fit ?

09/2001, european version. I can get my hands on a complete BT retrofit kit for an E39, but I'm not sure it will fit an X5 with 16:9 MKIV navigation system.

Here was my installation in a 2001 X5 (9/00 build) with navigation. - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...ticle&artid=26
Here was King's installation in a 2002 X5 without navigation (at the time, he since retrofitted nav) - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=188 If you look at both articles above you will see a black DB25 connector that's in the area where the CD changer and nav computer are located. If you have that connector then there's a good chance that you have the pre-wiring for the phone system. It looks like this: and ![]() Also, if you look at Jan's BT retrofit information at http://www.janixworld.com/x5/phone/ then you will see a section that reads: Cars built before 04/2002 and after 04/2001Hope this helps...
