Bluetooth and Assist

I have a 2005 X3.

When I purchased the SAV the salesperson said I could have either BMW Assist or Blue Tooth. I have seen conflicting articles and posts on this subject.

Does anyone know definitively? Can I use both or am I limited to one or the other? Thanks

Per this BMW TSB, all 2005 X3's that have Assist also have Bluetooth set to active.

You can use both.

Thank you.

I see that this was from March 05, and I picked up in January 05, so the salesperson probably did not know this was changed from the 04 model.

Dealer wants a $150 to turn on the bluetooth on my X3

Do I have to go to the dealer to get the bluetooth turned on on my X3? Can I do this myself, if so how do I do this?

Which lead to another question. The printed Ad for BMW assist seem to imply that one must have assist to have bluetooh active. Is that correct?

Here's the quote:

"On most 2005 models, and all 2006 models equipped with BMW Assist, you can select a Bluetooth® cellular phone from your wireless carrier to call hands-free without any cords or cables getting in your way".
