Wink Guys do you think this can be done??

My mom drives an 06 X5 which it comes equipped with bluetooth, she really dont like the bluetooth and doesnt needed it. I was thinking if its possible to take the bluetooth out of her car and install it in my car.? by doing that does the bmw assist stays in active?? how difficult is to do it? I drive an 03 x5 4.6is.Thanks for the input guys and girls..

The module in an 06 X5 is a combo Assist/BT module made by Motorola. This will only work in an X5 produced after April 2004. Anything made pre-April 2004 needs to use the Visteon BT module.

So to answer your question, no it can't be done.

ohh that reallyt sucks.. what about if I get the bluetooth you say, would I get bmw assist?

No, the Visteon module doesn't have Assist. And the 2003 wasn't equipped for it anyway.

Actually, not that it helps in this case, but BMW did release a service bulletin allowing x5's from 10/2003 to be fitted with the BT/Assist module.
