What kind of Motorola phone was pre-installed? The 2004 didn't have Bluetooth from the factory, and it's possible you have the CPT9000, which is the Motorola V60. You won't be able to pair another phone with that setup, if that's what you have, since it's not a Bluetooth based system.

You cannot pair any other phone. The bluetooth ONLY works with the car phone.

A Bluetooth retro kit (device for pairing other phones) will cost you about 1500Euro with the charging cradle. This is information I got last year so it might be cheaper now.
