How to TURN OFF Bluetooth in X5??

Does anyone know how to TURN OFF the bluetooth in a 2005 X5? I mainly use my wireless bluetooth headset, and I do not want the vehicle to pick up my phone calls when I am with clients in the vehicle. I have not been able to disable it like I can in my 2005 BMW 525i. Please let me know...

If you have a Motorola V600, you can control whether or not the phone automatically pairs with another device via the settings in the phone.

On my Motorola V600, there are various settings for each paired Bluetooth device. One of the settings is whether or not you want the phone to automatically search and connect to that particular Bluetooth device. If you select "no" on that setting, then the phone won't look for the X5 automatically. You would select "yes" for your handsfree earbud and "no" for the BMW.

It can't be turned off via the vehicle, only via the phone

cant turn off bluetooth

I have removed the vehicle from my bluetooth devices in my Motorola V710 phone.. yet everytime I get in the vehicle.. the phone still asks if I want to connect to the vehicle??

Is there any way to disengage the bluetooth in the vehicle so it is not constantly seeking out the phone??

The only way would be to physically remove the BT module from the vehicle. With my V600 I have it set up so that BT is normally off and I only turn it on when I want to pair with the vehicle or some other device (such as a headset). This also saves on the phone's battery life tremendously.

Not sure how the BT module is set up, but can you pull the fuse for just this portion? Maybe something to look into.

Hi John,
I have bluetooth and use a motorola phone, if you have a motorola you can can turn off bluetooth in the following ways by access of your phone.

From the phone menu,
*Select "settings"
*Select "Car settings"
*Scroll to "Auto Handsfree" and select OFF.

Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Estoril X5

You can try this procedure to delete all phones from the car's ULF system. From the manual:

Deleting Devices
The paired Bluetooth
TM mobile phones can only be deleted as a single group from the ULF control module. The pairing procedure must first be activated, and then the send/receive button on the installed eject-box or the pairing button located at the rear of the center console must again be depressed for an additional 10 seconds after the "Bluetooth Pairing" message is displayed on the radio in order to clear the list of paired devices from the control module and the message "paired devices deleted" is displayed.

Good luck,
Dennis

I think that only works with the Visteon BT module, as the 05's don't have the pairing button in the center console. I wonder if there is a way to unpair all devices from the 2005 Motorola BT/Assist module
