Bluetooth, MOST, CAN-Bus, and iBus systems

I would like to learn if an unapproved phone is able to work with an e60 MOST system, will there be any corrolation to expect it or tweak something to make it also work under an e86 iBus system?

the phone is a nokia e61 which has been documented to work (even though it's not approved) on an e60 530xd which has the new MOST and CAN-Bus system. However the new z4 M coupe is based on the e46 and the i-Bus system.

is there any way to expect the nokia e61 to work on the e86 M (z4 coupe) if it works on the e60 bmw?

The real question is if this phone can work with the latest OEM ULF... if so you are set. This is because www.bimmernav.com just released the MOST Bluetooth kits using current ULF modules that are used also for I-Bus cars.

this doesn't seem like an upgrade. my car already has the bluetooh hands free system installed and it works fine with all the approved phone models. getting this $575 kit plus another few hundred to see if MAYBE it will work seems like the wrong approach. how can i make 100% sure this will upgrade my current bluetooth? i have premium package/SOS/hands-free bluetooh/navigation system, etc. the whole 9 yards in my car already. not sure if what i'm reading in that package is gonna change anything!?!

and how do i find out which generation is my BMW'S ULF version? the car was sent to dealership around jun/jul 06.

Why don't you just go and park your butt inside your supplying dealer & refuse to move until they sort the problem out? - It helps if you park (& lock) your car across the service bay so nothing can go in or out!

Eeeeh... your first post does not say anything that you currently have the OEM Bluetooth in your car, so you should try first to detail your questions better before anybody waste their time trying to help you.

well actually i'm glad u responded with the bimmernav info because perhaps it's possible to upgrade the ULF. i didn't know anything about ULF. so your response was rather helpful, raises another question to help resolve this issue. basically i was asking what componets/systems are responsible for bluetooh operation in the i-bus system and can-bus system. if i can isolate the responsible componets perhaps it's possible to upgrade the BT portion of the i-bus to be more like can-bus and therefore allow the nokia e61 to pair up with my car.
