Installed Blutooth please advise

I Installed the Bluetooth ULF unit today together with the armrest ejectbox for my Nokia mobile phone.

The phonebattery charges in the ejectbox so there is a connection somewhere :-)

But when I turn my key the system says "Activate phone" in the NAV display.

No bluetooth menu what so ever, I remove the apollo GSM unit and all cabling fitted perfectly.

Please advise, do I need to get the car recoded ??

Have you attempted to pair the phone yet to your BMW yet?

you must first pair the phone to the vehicle

It's a one-time deal.

I checked the cabling and found out that the cable to the bluetooth antenna is not ok.

I ordered a new cable so in a couple of days I can try again.

No luck, reinstalled the Bluetooth antenna with a new cable.

I even disconnect the battery of the car for an hour to reset everything.

Still when I turn the ignition on 'activate phone' in the screen and no bluetooth pairing.

Should I get the system recoded at the dealership or are there any other options to check ?

Thanks for the help !

Did you pair your phone (i.e. have it link up with the car and enter the bluetooth pin nimber for access)? What year is your X? follow the instructions that came with your kit. It should tell you how to pair your phone with the new bluetooth module.

I tried to pair, but when I press the pair button, switch on the ignition and keep the pair switch on for 3 seconds nothing happens. The system doesn't come to bluetooth pairing, keeps on saying activate phone.

Are you using the pairing button in the center console? Did you let go of the button after waiting for the 3 seconds? The pairing message ususally goes on right after you let go of the button. Check your power connections and fuses also.

Yep I did, also checked the fuses etc.

Previously I had the BMW Apollo (wired) phone system in the car so I guess the car need recoding.
