My first post but been watching a while. I have a UK spec September 2005 X5 4.4i with Mark IV Nav and Bluetooth (cradle in arm rest). It all works well, latest Nav firmware v8.0 and Nokia 6230i but no SMS. I have been looking into upgrading to VR but am totally confused. I can buy a VR module from my stealer for around £255 but have read all sorts of posts saying I may have VR built into the ULF. Out with the tools and the ULF I have is Motorola Part No 84.10.6964113-02. No mention of "mit SES" but has pass key on it. The separate plus for the VR module does not have the SES plug. I do not have BMW Assist. How do I get VR easily and what generation is my ULF?
