Adding bluetooth to a 05 X5

Hi All. I wanted to add bluetooth to my X5 4.4 05. Production 11/04. I went to the dealer to ask if they know, or can look up my VIN to determine if I have the wiring in my X5? They told me the only way they can verify is for me to bring my car in and they will have to assign a mechanice/ specialist to look at it, but it would cost me an hours labor. Can anyone that has an 05 4.4 tell me ig the bluetooth wiring is there, or how I can check if it is there myself? No premium package and no BMW assist, or navigation.

If you don't have Assist or Premium Package then you likely don't have the Bluetooth system installed.

Drop me a PM with your VIN and I will see if I can get a printout of the options/packages for your X5

Hi UCrew,

Thanks for the reply. I know that I dont have the bluetooth system installed. I was wondering if I have the wiring so I can just buy the additional needed components. Any idea on that? My X5 is parked far from my office so I will PM you it later tonight.

When you get back to the vehicle, look and see if you have a cable in the drivers side rear compartment (where the CD changer would be mounted) that looks like the black connector shown in the pic:
