What cell phone service do you use and which BT phone are you thinking of getting?

Then you should get the -114 module for full compatibility with the V710 and also the VZW Treo 650 smartphone.
You don't need to activate the BMW Assist, but that particular BT/Assist module is made by Motorola and works well with the V710 and VZW Treo 650. You do need to get the BT/Module coded. CAS just did it on his '05 325i but I did the same on my '04 M3. You do make the cutoff date for the retrofitting the newer BT/Assist module. also, i will not have to buy another part to "activate" the SES, correct? i live in so cal, the SF valley...can you recommend any place to buy and install it??? thanks! WILL a bmw dealer buy and install this part or will i have to go at it myself...also how much are these parts running ? thanks again! |

Well, I have bought my car from Crevier and I usually use the Crevier parts counter. Tell them to give you the internet discount. Now, the BMW service dept. will probably charge you for "coding" time for the BT/Assist module. Unless, you know someone at your local dealer.
However, I hear Pacific BMW also has good prices which is closer to you. But I don't know anything about their operation. If you go to Crevier, the foreman Tom Mato knows how to code BT/Assist module. And re: snap-in....you don't need it for BT to work. It just charges your phone and can use the external antenna which is extra to buy.....It's no biggie. And the SES is included in the BT/Assist module. Nothing needed to activate. Quote:

kewl did you put 114 in your car or 522 because i dont think crevier will install 114 in my 04..
also..kewl it is my understanding to go with the combo even though i dont want the assist because it works best with the VZ phones?? also i would be getting the voice commands with 114, correct not with 522.. i was quoted $740 for 114 basically i am wondering what what are the main differences b/w 114 v 522 other then the 200 price tag...? especially because i dont care about assist... is it just the ease to sync with VZ MOT phones? or, the voice commands as well?
