Newbie needs some BT help.

Hey all- I just purchased a 2004 X5 3.0 on Thursday (black/black with Nav and prewired for the BMW mobile phone). It also has the BMW assist installed. I have two questions. Since it is prewired for the BMW telephone, does that mean that it has bluetooth already installed? Also what would I need to install to be able to connect my blackberry 8100 to the BT? Thanks.

I can't answer your question. However, try looking on the
home page under ELECTRONICS & CELL PHONE.

Good luck

in the 2004 models, bluetooth was not available with BMW Assist. chances are that you do not have bluetooth. it may depend on production date though

Thanks for the welcome. That was one of the first areas I read- but wasn't able to get an answer.

welcome to the forum. i drive the same car and mine has navigation
telephone and assist even if i press the sos button near the sunroof ones
the bmw assist answer but no bluetooth ,look if you have a passkey for the bluetooth on the glove compartment in the owner manual.if not
you have to change the assist to the ulf module that goes on the trunk
driver side and that will cost you around $700.00
you can search in bimmernav.com
