Treo 700W Bluetooth Pairing Problems
I have a 2005 X5 that has worked perfectly with my older Treo 650 Palm unit. I recently purchased the Treo 700W Windows version and it will not stay paired. It looses connection, drops calls, etc. I have searched prior threads on this site for tips but have found none. Is this a known problem or can I change a setting on the 700W to make it work? In other words, do I need to purchase a different phone or should the 700W work. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank You, Saxe |

None of the Treo's are on the list of compatible list of bluetooth phones.
http://www.wireless4bmw.com/phones2.html However, I had a Treo 700p which worked perfectly. My iPhone which IS on the list doesn't work consistently. |

there is a new software out for the treo 700 on the palm website...bluetooth pairing is great now. the issue i'm having with the new update, however, is that when i use the browser, sometimes it won't connect and i have to go through the programming process before it will connect again. it takes about a half hour to 45 minutes for the update.

I believe that download is only for the 700p, is that correct?

Thanks for pointing out the O.S. update, my treo 700w pairs with the X much better now.
Are you able to transfer the phone book as well? I ge the "please wait" message when I click on the directory menu. Thanks. |

still doesn't transfer contacts into the directory...it still only transfers the numbers you have in your favorites buttons...not sure what it's called with windows mobile, but try putting your numbers into your favorites and see if it loads up.

Saxe I have a 700w here's what I recommend:
(1) Take the 700w; (2) Open the door and walk outside; and (3) Smash that phone into a million pieces... That's what I plan on doing as soon as my service contract expires, why didn't you get the new 700wx? |

ljnlaw,
I bought the 700w phone last year. I have never used it because it doesn't pair with the car. I'm still using my 700p that's over two years old. Of course the 700w upgrade which is referenced above is only for Verizon customers, not Sprint. Figures. I think your advice is excellent. ![]() Saxe |
