Bluetooth in my new '04?

I have not picked it up yet, but my new 04 has the ULF, and the Bluetooth antenna. The tel button has a red light next to it. When pressed the OBC shows "phone activated?". Is this one Bluetooth ready? I have done the search and cannot find an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated.....

You need to pair your phone with the ULF.

Turn BT on the phone and set to show to all,
Press and hold the pair button (centre console)
Turn on ignition to stage 1 (radio crt)
Wait 3 seconds,
Release Pair button,
ULF should beep,
and the display should say "pairing"
turn on search for bt devices on the phone
it should now find the ULF "BMWJU67890"
insert the ULF code
accept (on phone)
you should hear a beep to coinfirm pairing,
turn off ingition, to save pair on ULF

Job done

I do not get any beep or pairing message. I have the BT antenna and a ULF module. The only messages that I see are "Phone Connected?" and "Phonebook empty!". Perhaps I do not have the correct ULF module. The literature included with my manuals, etc. included the BT pairing code sticker. I am confused

What type of phone are you trying to connect?

It sounds like the phone is paired but the Phonebook has not transfered across!

I have tried a Motorola KRZR as well as a W385. The car has never asked for a code or said "pairing".

It sounds like you aren't pairing your phone. The empty phone book is related to the one you can build in the car, not the phonebook in your cell.

The car won't ask for a passcode - but your cell phone will. You need to tell your cell to discover new BT connections while trying to pair with the car.

Try pairing it again. Look for a pairing button somewhere on the center console. It looks like the talking man icon on the steering wheel. It works differently, though. Once you're paired properly, it'll work well.

Good luck,
Dave
