New X5 Owner Blue Tooth Question
Hello Everyone,
I'm a new X5 owner, just got a 04 - 3.0 supposely built in July 04. with Nav and Cd changer -DSP. I have what looks to be a Blue tooth antenna (part #8450 6928461) mounted on top of the rack that holds the Nav DVD and CD changer. Is this a BT antenna or something else? if this is not a BT antenna, and i Don't have BT. Is it better to go with a OEM retrokit/ A BMW kits or someone else kit like a Plain Talk kit? Who's OEM Retro kit would you use? How much work is it to install a OEM/retro type Kit? Thank you for your help and answers Jim |

The 04 X5 does not have bluetooth from the factory. BMW wanted to have bluetooth and put in some of the parts but never got it to work until 05 X5.
You need a bluetooth retrofit kit such as the ones on www.bimmernav.com Install is very simple and straight forward. It just requires that you remove/replace the old module and add the pairing button under the arm rest. Here are details on how to install http://www.bimmernav.com/BMW_X5_Blue...tructions.html |

Thank you for the information. My X5 does not have the BWM phone set up. Do I still have to open and removed the phone Cradles that is in the Center Console(using the Two plastic cards? I assume that being that my X5 was Mfg in summer of 2004 that i have to removed the E-brake assy and then the side of the console to unconnect the one cable harness?? is this correct? Where does the pairing button go? thank you |

Is the X5 a US or Euro X5? If US they are all prewired for phone and you just need a kit.
The eject box would go in the center console just like the cars that hae the BMW phone system Martin |
