Palm Treo 650 Bluetooth

I have a new 2005 X5 pre loaded with bluetooth...
I have been ready through eveyones' issues with the treo....I purchased a new treo 650 this weekend....I downloaded the new version 1.12, which supposedly would clear up issues with pairing....the first day it worked great...it would pair and load my "favorites", into the phone book...no problems...however, the next day was a different story...the treo would not pair automatically..i had to go through the search new device, enter the password, then nothing....I was able to initiate calls from the Treo and hear it through the bmw, however I could not recieve calls using the bmw, only the treo...My phone book never would load...Sprint couldnt figure it out....
I also do not have the feature on my phone, "allow wakeup" which many have said clears up some issues..sprint said they cant find that menu either..
After a long day trying to figure it out I hope tomorrow brings better luck...Anyone had simular problems?

Is there a operators manuel for BMW bluetooth? My dealer says no....Is there a ceratin configuration the car needs to be in to pair?

it's probably not the car... Cell phone company are trying to limit what you can do with blue tooth mostly because they don't want you...the customer...to be able to download data from you computer such as mp3's, ringtones, address book etc for free... they want you to pay extra for it and dowload data from them(or via) to increase their revenues... So they demand that phone manufacturers limit the bluetooth features in their software. It is becoming a real problem... some phone company are better than other. Cingular is the best verizon and sprint the worst.

After giving up my unlocked GSM Treo 650, I bought the Sprint 650 last week, and upgraded the firmware to 1.12. Pairs and works fine with my 2005 X5. The only issue that I have, is when starting the X5, the screen will power on, and ignore the keyguard on the 650. I keep my Treo in a holster, so the seat belt usually hits a key, and either dials a call, or executes other commands. It appears that during each pairing process, the ULF is sending a command to turn the screen on, and bypass the Treo's key gaurd. I now place the Treo in the lobster tray that covers the cupholders, to avoid unintended key presses.

That's because there are over 1.4 billion GSM users compared to CDMA with around 235 million. The GSM Treo is a quadband phone and can be used almost anywhere in the world. That means it can be marketed towards to almost every GSM user. The CDMA version is region specific and if Palm wants to sell them in any quantity, they have to do what the carriers want.

ok..today i had the idea of turning my network settings off during my pairing of the bmw....hey it worked..however, the phone book that is showing in the bmw is an old favorites list and the min. i hang up a call the phone book dissapears...anyone know how to reset the bmw phone book? I have entered a new favorites in my phone since my first pair...

I am using an SE T630 with my 05 X5

I've noticed that it will pair every time EXCEPT when I have missed a call, and the message screen letting me know this, is still active (unread).

When an incoming call has been diverted through to my message bank, the SMS telling me I have voicemail there, also prevents it from pairing until I delete the message.

All I get is "ACTIVATE PHONE" up on the screen.

This may not be the cause of your problem but try making sure there are no unread messages preventing it from pairing/updating.

I'm having similar problems... I have the latest firmware from Palmone, but the car shows "activate phone" even after successfully pairing the car and phone. If I initiate a call from the treo, the car will pick it up, but incoming calls don't work. During the brief intervals the phone is "activated" during an outgoing call, the address book is unpopulated.

I also can't find "allow wakeup" in any option menu. I tried deleting all my favorites, and that just seemed to clean up the endless reboot issue.

I am really, really, frustrated!!

I have a M3 with BT/Assist module -114 and Verizon Treo 650. I noticed that the BT/Assist module will recognize the Treo 650 faster if #1, you turn on your Treo phone and also turn on your Bluetooth on your Treo 650 before you start the car. (This is assuming you already sucessfully paired your VZW Treo 650 with your BMW). With in seconds, ACTIVATE PHONE will turn into Loading Phonebook! I can show you pictures.

Make sure you have sucessfully paried up your Verizon Treo 650 with your BT/Assist module and type in your BT Passkey in your VZW Treo 650 for the first pairing.
