E5M1R - I understand what you are saying: I suggested what I did because I had the same symptoms: all I could get the screen to say was 'Activate Phone', so it looked like the pairing process wasn't even starting.
If there are few messages stored on the phone and it still won't progress then I agree it is a different problem. PeterT
