Is this the bluetooth module that is needed

Hi,

Am a newbie and have gone throught a lot of posts but still have some questions. I know I have a 12/03 production model car which did not have bluetooth. On reading the forums I checked int he crago area and found this unit which i want to clarify is the bluetooth thing??

what else would eb needed to set up bluetooth on my X5. I have a razr with cingular service.

Any help would be great.

That is the Assist module. The BT functions on that particular module are inoperative. With a 12/03 build date your only option is to remove that module and install the Visteon BT module. Doing so will render your Assist inoperative.

Just so you know, your vehicle qualifies to have both Assist and Blue-Tooth. Requires to have that unit (TCU) replaced with an updated version.

Ed, are you sure? I was under the impression that only X5's made after 03/04 could be retrofitted with the combo Motorola BT/Assist module.
