2004 e53 x5 and LG TU500 phonebook pairing

Hi,
We have a 2004 (March build) E53 X5 and we have just purchased a LG TU500 phone.
I have paired the phone with the bluetooth module but the phonebook has not come through. Is this a compatibility problem? Or is there something I should do to make this work?
