Same results as you cuz.
Picked up the same cradle and dropped it in. No charge and signal bars jus dropped. I'll plan on retrofitting the BT/Assist unit and hopefully get this thing up'n'running. In the meantime, she’s jus all show.

Interesting, I didn't know we were related.

Is the BT/Assist combo retrofit a simple plug and play into our '04s, or does it involve more heavy lifting? When do you plan on doing it, and do you know the part #'s neceaary to pull it off?

In the meantime, wft is BMW doing selling us a part that doesn't work?

If Ed can't get it working, it can't be done

For now I'm gathering as much info as I can. I got the head honcho at my dealer making calls and later this week we'll compare notes and take it from there.

I know what you mean and I still think BMW should step up to those with assist w/out BT and offer free upgrades.

Take a look at this post - http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/58112

Perhaps you might get lucky and your module is one of the ones being recalled and replaced with one that gives you BT
