Bluetooth and eliminating DSP

We just eliminated DSP in a 2005 nav X5.

WOrked great, except the BT audio wasn't heard in the car.

We re-routed the BT audio and ON wires over to their correct positions in the tuner box connectors (as shown on the bmwtechinfo diagrams). The mute wire was already there and the muting was already working.

We get no audio through the tuner box out to the new amps.

ANy ideas on this one? When adding BT to a non-DSP car, is there any dealer reporgramming req'd?

Fun news. The OP of the ULF BT box is speaker level. Just connect a speaker to it and you keep it. It mutes fine. Voila!

You also may want to add an ELK800 amp to adjust the volume levels.

Negative, Ghost Rider. The pattern is full.

On this car, the OP of the ULF varies with the HU nav volume setting ONCE the system has muted for a BT phone call. You can raise or lower the audio volume but the previous BT volume setting is retained. Likewise, you can raise or lower BT volume during a call, but afer the call ends, audio system volume reverts to its previous setting.

As Antoine on In Living Color said, "I'm as surprised as you!"

The BT volume and the audio volume are independent. Finally, one reason the volume setting isn't indicated on the display : )

Ucrew, I examined your post about your BT upgrade on another forum... your ULF module is different than the one that came in this car. The one we got was cast metal, not sheet metal - I wish I'd gotten the BMW PN. I think the amp is now integrated.
