How do you find your 4 digit BlueTooth code?

I have a 2005 X5 4.4 which came with bluetooth installed. I paid another $135 to the dealer to have the bluetooth activated. However, I don't have nor can I find the 4 digit code to setup the pairing to my cell phone. It is not with my owners manual (I have check 15 times). My BMW service rep tells me he can not look up my bluetooth code with the Vin#. Furthermore, he is telling me to bring Vehicle back to have the Bluetooth combo replaced!?!?

Isn't the BT code on the physical unit in my X5? Seems kind of drastic to replace the unit.

Regards,
Marc.

Hmmm . . . They didn't give me my Bluetooth code with my paperwork either. And then had the nerve to charge me $50 to locate it. Which was done easily by follwoing THESE directions: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90787

Hate to refer you to the "old" hangout, but the pictures make this pretty straightforward.

Still can't find my BT passkey

I followed the pictures in the link. But did not find the same ULF in my X5. I have 2005 X5 4.4 (production 11/04) and I'm trying very hard to find my Bluetooth passkey. Enclosed is an image of what is on my drivers side trunk. Not sure if I'm looking in the right place?

Yes, that's the right place. The BT/Assist unit is the silver regtangular unit that is at a 45 degree angle there in the picture. You need to physically take the unit out in order to find the sticker that has the passkey on it.

Thumbs up I found my Bluetooth passkey!

I found my Bluetooth passkey! It really wasn't that hard after all. Even without the VR kit, I had no problems with both incoming & outgoing calls and BMW phonebook sync up on my Moto V710 1.40OR.

Special thanks to Zeke013 and King for their pointers and to UCrewX5 for the encouragement to dig a little bit deeper.

Thank you for helping located the passkey. I will try it tonight. I was wondering....my phone is an mp3 player also. So does that mean that I can also play my music through my X5 stereo via my cell phone? Or do I have to buy a seperate kit for the mp3 player?
