BlackBerry Storm phonebook wont load

We have 2 identical storms in our household. Both syncs up to the BT in our X6 but one of them is unable to transfer its phonebook. The one that does not work properly have had an IT policy on it.

So just a general tip - if you have this problem check if your IT policy prevents the transfer, or if the IT policy is gone, make sure it was removed entirely.

Does your IT policy prevent Bluetooth PB transfer? That is a really strange IT Policy for a corporate BES system (I'm BES admin)...

I would update the software on both Storm's... The first revisions of it had a ton of issues... My wife's BB Storm (on a corporate BES server--i.e has an IT Policy) has no issues syncing with our either of our cars...

Have you turned off bluetooth on the
blackberry that will load the phone book?

Try it and see if the other one will load that way.
Our e-60 pairs both of our phones
but the iPhone takes over and the
other phone will not do a phone book transfer.

Well - Its all assumptions so far - I did a few quick searches and it seems that a certain version of BES access could be the culprit. However - on the phone (its my wife's) desktop connectivity and wireless bypass is greyed out. I know that those options can be set to false in the policy so once my wife finds time to see the admin and have those options changed I am not overly concerned and intended this to be here more as warning than trying to find a solution.

I would still check the software version of Storm before I did anything else. If she needs a software update she is going to then need to see IT to re-activate her BB anyhow...

BTW, current VZW OS for the Storm is 4.7.0.75 which fixed many bugs in .65.

4.7.0.141 is going to be out (can be found here now: Official 9530 4.7.0.141 Findings & Fixes Thread - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com)

I'd update both devices... You'll notice many stability improvements with the OS update...

BTW, I don't see anything about Bluetooth phonebook transfer from the list of IT Policies...

Hmm - how very curious - will see what happens when she takes her phone to the admin. My wife wanted to use her private phone (the storm) for her work email instead of having 2 BB's - however the IT policy stopped personal emails so she quickly got tired of that and had her work email removed. Not sure if the policy at this point was just changed or removed entirely.

In the mean while we changed cars - since our phones is otherwise identical, it would seem that the policy is somehow the culprit. Unless verizon have software on it for BES access?

As far as updating the OS - kinda holding out until verizon decides to make something official - we are on 4.7.75 atm.

See if they can activate her personal phone on company BES without an IT Policy. They can do that (don't let them tell her she can't)...

They can do that w/o reactivating btw... takes 2 minutes... they just hit a change policy button and choose "default" which is the equivalent of no policy

Update: Had the phone wiped and it fixed the issue. Phonebook syncs like normal now. Took it to a verizon store, so cant really say if and what part of the IT policy was causing the problem. All I know is that its working now.
