Question Bluetooth problem: Motorola Krave & E70 X5

I have a Motorola Krave, which pairs successfully with both my 2008 E92 M3 and 2009 E70 X5; however, the phone directory syncs with the X5 intermittently even though it syncs with the M3 every time. I thought the two BMWs had the same iDrive, so why am I having the problem with the X5???

Any help would be appreciated. The Service Department told me that since the Krave isn't on the BMW compatible list, they can't do anything about it.

Thanks in advance!

It's the ULF (phone module) not the I-drive that connects the phone to the car, if it were me I'd swap the ULF from the m3 to the x5 (as a test) and see if the problem goes with the ULF, then newer one (x5) may be a different version (check the part numbers) than the older one (m3) and it may have some differences in the phonebook loading algorithm.

If it does then that's the problem, the newer ULF, (probably tweaked for iphone).

Thanks for your help! Can you tell me where I would find the ULF?

I have an older BMW so not really, I would assume in the boot (trunk) some where (right hand side)?

This is a retrofit guide for the e90 so it will give you a rough idea what it looks like and where to look,
