BT on my '03 X5
, I now have the Mod fever, and want to install BT on my '03 X5. I did a search, and found this article from IFlyX5 (thanks, by the way). I just want to verify that this is all I need. Any new info or additional tips or tricks? I do not have Nav or BMW Assist.

Keafer,
Whats the build date on your X?? The standard rule of thumb had been that you had to have a 3-04 build or later to install the 05 TCU and have BT and Assist. The attached TSB seems to contradict this a bit. I have a 3-04 (early production)with Nav and assist and all that was needed is the TCU, BT antenna and its connector cable, thats it. You've got to get it coded. It looks like the late production 04's have the BT antenna already installed. This new TSB is perfect, i wish i'd had it when i did mine a couple of months ago. http://www.alldata.com/tsb/BMW/11255...405/index.html Good luck.......... |

Not meaning to hijack, but how good is the blue tooth mod? I have heard that some blue tooth systems have poor sound quality and that they can break up or lost connection altogether. Is it really worth the $700-800?

Peter's (IFlyX5) write-up should show you what needs to be done and what parts are needed

Juan...all you need is one ULF module..and one BT install kit. You may want to contact Rob_ and see what he can do for you. Everything is plug and play...I am not sure if yours will need to be recoded or not...Rob_ coded mine to eliminate any problems.
