Unhappy BT Turns off after half hour

Hi,
my phone connects to the car then after half hour or so its disconnects. the telephone icon goes off but can still see it. and there is a solid red light in the top right off the monitor. When i turn the car off and get back in it its works and stops again.
Any ideas as to why this would happen and how i fix it?
X5 2004 model

thanks:co ol:

We need a little more info from you...

1) What kind of phone are you using?
2) A 2004 X5 most likely would not have come with a BMW BT system from the factory; therefore:
A) Do you know what kind of BT system it is?
B) Did you install the system, or do you know who did?
3) Has it ever worked?
4) Can you test it with a different phone?

So, your Nokia 5130c has been working fine for many months, and then it just recently started disconnecting after 30 minutes?

Do you remember anything that changed around the time that the phone & BT quit working?

Can you test it with a different BT phone?

Sometimes a bad contact in the phone can cause a BT disconnect. That happens more often on a Blackberry or iPhone, where you have more freedom to enter stuff in the phone number fields.

We need to find out if the problem is related to the phone, so it is key to test with a different phone to see if that changes the behavior any.
