Quick TCU question
I'm looking to add Bluetooth to a 2002 x5 with nav and non-assist. I would like to have voice recognition for both phone and nav so I assumed I should go with a ulf module...
Then I was on the EAS website and they are selling a retrofit kit with a TCU. They claim that it has been programmed to handle voice recognition for both phone and nav: eas - 714.369.8524 | BMW - Bluetooth Retrofit Kit for e53 X5 Is that possible? I thought a TCU could only handle phone VR... I'm thinking the info on the site is inaccurate but if it isn't I would like to go this route instead of installing a pairing button. Any info would be appreciated... Last edited by The Dude; 08-13-2011 at 01:45 PM. |

EAS is incorrect. The TCU only has voice commands for the phone. You need the ULF system or a separate VR module to get navigation voice commands.
